Evans, bringing over 25 years of industry experience, is poised to lead the company’s aggressive expansion into the UK’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), distribution, consumer goods, and e-commerce sectors.
Having managed nearly 400 sites across 18 countries, ID Logistics is recognised for its robust operational capabilities. In 2023, the group reported impressive revenues of €2.75 billion. Given its international foothold, the decision to appoint Evans highlights the group’s intent to swiftly gain a solid presence in the UK market, leveraging his extensive background in 3PL contract logistics and transport.
Evans’ career, initiated at Danish firm DSV in 1997, has been marked by progressive roles in commercial and operational management, eventually leading to his senior directorship managing multiple UK logistics sites. In his new role, he will report directly to Christophe Satin, Deputy Chief Executive at ID Logistics Group. His valuable experience is expected to enhance ID Logistics’ UK business operations significantly.
The Northampton site, ID Logistics’ first operational venture in the UK, spans 18,000 square metres and is strategically located at Prologis Grange Park. This facility is primarily tasked with managing return flows for a globally renowned fast fashion retailer and is expected to employ over 300 staff. This move reflects the company’s expertise in e-commerce and textile logistics, promising increased operational efficiency and service innovation.
Stuart Evans has already overseen the launch of this pivotal site, cementing ID Logistics’ commitment to sustainability and service excellence. Evans stated, “This transaction in the UK is a significant step for ID Logistics. We are excited to begin operations at Grange Park – the DC7 facility perfectly aligns with our operational requirements and sustainability goals.” Such developments underscore the ambitious plans of ID Logistics to cater to its growing list of international clientele.
ID Logistics Group’s strategic UK entry, led by Stuart Evans, signifies its expansion ambitions in the logistics sector.
