Michael Egorov, a leading name in DeFi and Founder of Curve Finance & Yield Basis, has started a podcast series as a new communications format, intended to encourage open and meaningful conversations within its community and the wider decentralized finance industry.
The series opened with an episode titled “DAO on Trial: Code vs Humans”, which gathered leading voices from the sector to examine one of the industry’s most debated questions: how DAO governance is meant to be shaped, and what is happening inside DAOs today?
The panel included Michael Egorov, Founder of Curve Finance, together with Marc Zeller, Founder of the Aave Chan Initiative (ACI), and Gabriel Shapiro, Founder of MetaLeX. Gerrit Hall, Co-Founder of Leviathan News, moderated the conversation.
Recent governance debates, among them votes on Curve DAO’s funding proposal and renewed discussions about tokenholder rights within Aave DAO, have brought growing tensions around accountability, legal clarity and decentralization into focus.
Against that background, “DAO on Trial: Code vs Humans” set out to cut through the noise and look at the real challenges of building DeFi platforms, drawing on experts who are actively shaping the space.
Panellists discussed the differences between “pure” DAOs and loosely governed models, the idea of DAO self-sovereignty, and the ways on-chain governance supports transparency and accountability. The discussion also touched on legal structures around DAOs and the role of incentives, including vote-escrow designs.
The podcast targets builders, DAO contributors, investors and anyone finding their way through the fast-changing DeFi governance landscape.
