Many AI startups are still searching for product-market fit, but 9M AI says it has already built its infrastructure, deployed its systems and established a global presence.
On June 27, 2025, the company held its official global debut in Hong Kong under the theme “Global Kick-Off 2025: Igniting the Future,” and welcomed over 500 attendees from more than a dozen countries. The event featured the live unveiling of an AI ecosystem that is already running across three continents, rather than another speculative tech reveal.
Education First: Building Intelligence from the Ground Up
9M AI did not open with a product demo. It began by launching the 9M AI Academy, a worldwide training initiative intended to shape the next generation of AI-native thinkers, engineers and ecosystem leaders.
Academy Dean Joanne Teo led the presentation of a rigorous, modular curriculum centred on intelligent finance, decentralized infrastructure and real-world algorithmic systems. Faculty hubs are already active in Vietnam, South Korea, India, and Germany, and the Academy aims to certify over 2,000 professionals by mid-2026.
“AI is not a software, it’s a way of thinking,” Teo declared. “To build trusted systems, we need educated operators. That’s why we built the Academy first.”
The program, called AI Capital Intelligence, offers multilingual tracks on AI architecture, macroeconomic frameworks, incentive design and decentralized governance, which the company describes as a foundation for global AI fluency.
From WeWork to World Stage: CEO Chris Chang Tells the 9M Story
Next, CEO Chris Chang gave a keynote tracing 9M AI’s path from modest beginnings in a Manhattan WeWork to its current multi-region footprint.
Chang previously led an LED lighting manufacturing firm that progressed from U.S. government contracts to a Nasdaq IPO, and he stressed the company’s culture of discipline, decentralization, and relentless execution.
“We didn’t raise capital to experiment,” Chang said. “We built teams to operate. We built systems to scale.”
He described 9M’s rapid growth: active expansion into Europe (Germany, France, UK), Africa (Nigeria, South Africa) and Asia (South Korea), with deployments to follow in Dubai and Brazil.
NovaMind Demo Stuns Audience: Real AI in Action
Kevin Sheahan, 9M’s Lead Architect, gave one of the most striking moments of the event with a live demonstration of NovaMind, the company’s proprietary multi-modal AI engine.
Broadcast live from 9M’s New York command center, NovaMind showed that it can:

Korea Expansion: Smart Contracts and Global Build-Out.
Closing the event, 9M AI announced its next Global Summit in South Korea on August 8, where smart contract-based fund governance tools will be introduced and put into use. This will formally start its East Asia infrastructure build-out.
