United subsidiary CommutAir has named Lon Ziegler as its vice president of maintenance, as the airline mobilizes to triple the size of its fleet, the company said.
The company said it plans to expand its flying footprint as it inducts 40 Embraer 145 aircraft under the United Express agreement.
Ziegler has been CommutAir´s director of maintenance since earlier in 2016. He was previously with ExpressJet Airlines where he was the director of maintenance.
CommutAir, operating as United Express, is majority owned by Champlain Enterprises Inc. CommutAir operates more than 900 weekly flights to more than 30 destinations, with Bombardier Q200/300 and Embraer ERJ145 aircrafts, from bases in Newark, NJ and Washington Dulles.
