PCTEL, Inc. (Nasdaq: PCTI) announced at APCO Canada that it is adding Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) signal quality measurements to its award-winning public safety network testing solution, the company said.
PCTEL´s solution streamlines the way building owners verify first responder radio coverage to meet local code requirements for occupancy. With the addition of DMR measurements, this efficient pass/fail testing system can now be applied to a broad range of public and private critical communications networks.
Signal quality measurements provide an objective alternative to Delivered Audio Quality (DAQ) measurements in a fraction of the time and cost it takes to conduct traditional voice testing. PCTEL´s public safety testing solution offers signal quality measurements for P25, LTE/FirstNet, DMR, and UMTS as well as channel power measurements for any LMR technology.
DMR signal quality measurements include SINR (signal to interference and noise ratio) and Frame BER (bit error rate). DMR measurements can be added to drive testing and walk testing tools that use IBflex® and HBflex™ scanning receivers, whether standalone or as part of a public safety network testing solution kit.
