Southwest Airlines has announced the launch of nonstop flights from Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) to Lihue, Kauai (LIH) and Kona (KOA), on the Island of Hawaii, the company said.
With the addition of these two destinations, Southwest now offers nonstop service from San Jose to all four main islands in Hawaii. Southwest will operate B737-800 aircraft on the two new routes. Flight details and bookings are now available on Southwest.com/Hawaii.
Lihue flights are offered initially four days per week (on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun) with Kona service offered thrice-weekly (on Tue/Thu/Sat). Both flights will be offered daily beginning the first week of March for the peak-summer season ahead. These new flights are in addition to Southwest´s existing daily, nonstop flights between SJC and both Honolulu (Oahu) and Kahului (Maui), which began in May 2019. The carrier also offers 38 flights a day among five airports in Hawaii, including Hilo International Airport.
