FONEX, a supplier of innovative telecom solutions to Tier 1 Service Providers, has confirmed that it secured an agreement to supply an adaptable mobile backhaul solution to French Tier 1 Provider Bouygues Telecom, the company said.
Like mobile operators worldwide, Bouygues Telecom is faced with the challenge to optimize its fiber infrastructure and expand its reach into new market segments. Designed to support Bouygues´ mobile evolution, FONEX´s integrated solution consists of a passive WDM infrastructure, WDM active pluggable interfaces and an optical protection element.
A component of the mobile xHaul solution features technology developed by FONEX´s in-house optical equipment manufacturer, LambdaGain.
FONEX´s WDM passive technology offers Bouygues Telecom a future-proof solution that can be adapted to support xHaul, remote sectors, micro cells as well as 5G. “Simplicity is the key to our innovative solution. FONEX uses a unique backhaul architecture which simplifies engineering and operations regardless which radio and IP equipment is being used.
The flexibility of the solution allows Bouygues Telecom to leverage its fiber even further and serve more segments such as enterprise and fixed broadband.” Said Xiangfeng Liu, European Solutions Director at FONEX.
