Reston, Virginia-based mobile communications provider NII Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: NIHD) generated consolidated operating revenues of USD249 million and a consolidated operating loss of USD29 million for the second quarter of 2016, the company said.
The company ended the quarter with USD429 million in consolidated cash and short-term investments and USD208 million of cash held in escrow.
Net subscriber losses totaled 179,000 in the quarter, which were primarily driven by continued subscriber losses on the company´s iDEN network.
NII Holdings provides mobile communication services for businesses and high value consumers in Brazil. Operating under the Nextel brand, it offers integrated wireless communication tools with digital cellular voice services, data services and wireless Internet access.
