Faithful+Gould has announced that the Terminal C North program at George Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston (IAH) has been selected to receive a CMAA North Texas Project Achievement Award in the category of ´transportation projects valued greater than USD 100 million´, the company said.
The project was split into two phases: the terminal building, valued at approximately USD 260m; and the ramp, fueling and utilities portion, valued at roughly USD 85m.
The terminal building, covering 264,000 square feet in total, is a two-level facility that houses 14 gates with new jet bridges and accessories. New restaurants, a food court, and retail outlets complement a partnership between United Airlines and On The Go (OTG) concessionaire to provide a dynamic design with the latest in travel restaurant technology.
The ramp, fueling and utilities aspect, involved the removal and replacement of approximately 24 acres of 17.5-inch concrete apron paving surrounding the new concourse. Faithful+Gould verified that all required site utilities were provided, including, but not limited to, chilled and hot water, electrical, domestic water, fire water, sanitary sewer and drainage to the new concourse.
