Excella, an Agile technology firm, has announced that its Extension Center intern program has been ranked #3 in Vault.com´s “2020 Best Tech & Engineering Internships,” the company said.
Based on a nationwide survey of 14,000 current and former interns, the program is also ranked #6 for “Best Internships for Employment Prospects” and #11 for “The 100 Best Internships.”
Excella´s Extension Center, located on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, provides high-achieving computer science students the opportunity to work side-by-side with Excella´s experienced software developers to build technical skills while providing remote software development support to the company´s clients in the federal, commercial and nonprofit sectors. Successful rising seniors are often invited to participate in a 12-week summer associate program in the DC metro area, and graduating seniors are invited to interview for full-time roles.
Vault´s rankings and reviews are sourced from directed surveys of professionals and students and evaluate companies, schools and internships in terms of prestige, best place to work, diversity, quality of life, compensation and other categories.
Beginning in 2020, Excella´s Extension Center is relaunching as the Exelaration Center and plans to establish additional Exelaration Centers, expanding its mentor-based internship model beyond its headquarters in Virginia Tech´s Corporate Research Center.
