CheapOair, a flight-focused hybrid online travel agency, has reported the top ten domestic destinations its consumers are traveling to for the 4th of July holiday, the company said.
Data shows that average prices for the majority of the top destinations are down compared to last year, with the exception of three cities that are showing increases–Los Angeles, CA (up 5%), New York–LaGuardia (up 7%), and Seattle, WA (up 15%).
The largest price decrease seen between 2016 and 2017 for domestic destinations was reflected in bookings for Chicago, IL, showing a 23 percent decrease in airfare costs.
Additionally, CheapOair´s data shows that those looking to pay the lowest price for their trip should consider Ft. Lauderdale, FL, as the average airfare costs USD 295. Las Vegas, NV came in as the most popular destination for the holiday, with a 6 percent decrease in airfare, rounding out at USD 345.
