AT&T (NYSE: T) has kept US troops across the Norfolk and Virginia Beach area connected, and as part of its continued support, AT&T has hosted a hiring event for veterans, reservists and military family members, the company said.
On May 5, AT&T doubled its military hiring commitment from 10,000 veterans to 20,000 by 2020. In 2013, the company announced it would hire 10,000 veterans within the next five years, and met this goal at the end of 2015.
The company said it focuses on recruiting veterans into career paths since the experience and skills gained through military service make a valuable contribution to the workforce.
