Innovative Eyewear (Nasdaq: LUCY) sent its shares sharply higher on 24 August 2026 after announcing a deal to bring VIVE Eagle smart glasses to American buyers through its Lucyd.co platform, giving the company its first product it did not manufacture itself. The stock closed up 60%, according to the company’s announcement, though StockTitan put the final session gain at 63.77%.
The alliance with HTC, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, gives Innovative distribution rights for the VIVE Eagle range in the United States. Sales through Lucyd.co are set to begin in September 2026, with US-based prescription lens fulfilment and a free basic prescription upgrade included from launch.
A Second Catalyst Behind the Rally
The HTC deal was not the only news driving LUCY on the day. Quiver Quantitative reported that Innovative simultaneously announced a rollout into more than 150 stores at a major US big-box retailer, a separate expansion that contributed to the session’s gains.
The dual announcement comes as Innovative’s underlying financials show improving momentum. Preliminary, unaudited figures reported to Yahoo Finance put Q2 2026 net sales at approximately $0.99 million, up approximately 71% year-over-year. First-half 2026 net sales reached approximately $1.77 million, also up around 71%, marking the twelfth consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue growth.
Operating expenses as a percentage of revenue have also compressed. StockTitan’s data shows the ratio fell from 467% of revenue in Q1 2025 to 193% in Q2 2026, with net loss as a percentage of revenue narrowing from 391% to 165% over the same period.
VIVE Eagle Smart Glasses: What the Product Offers
The VIVE Eagle starts at 48.5 grams and carries IP54 dust-and-splash protection. The frame houses a 12MP camera with ZEISS lenses and pairs with HTC’s VIVE Connect app, which handles AI conversation recording, translation, and camera controls, as well as hands-free voice activation.
HTC has built privacy safeguards into the hardware: the glasses stop recording when not being worn or when the indicator light is covered. The range also offers adjustable nose prongs on some models and what the company describes as high-fidelity audio across a wide volume range.
Before the US launch, the VIVE Eagle had already reached Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, and Europe, giving Innovative access to a product with an established international footprint.
For Innovative, the deal adds an AI camera capability its own frames do not currently include. Chief executive Harrison Gross said the company applies strict quality standards to its Lucyd.co store: ‘We have a great deal of respect for HTC and their hand in the mobile computing revolution. I am very excited to work with them to bring their impressive new camera smart eyewear to the US market. We believe the product is more capable, comfortable and user-friendly than other camera glasses on the market.’
Charles Huang, SVP Global Sales and Marketing at HTC, said in the alliance press release: ‘Innovative Eyewear has consistently proven themselves in the smart eyewear space, bringing great designs, functionality, and customer experience to users over the years.’
The VIVE Eagle also adds a second Red Dot-winning frame to the Lucyd.co catalogue, alongside the company’s own branded lines including Lucyd, Reebok, Nautica, and Eddie Bauer.
Retail Footprint and Filing Context
Innovative’s own retail presence has been growing separately. According to the company’s 10-K filing for the fiscal year ended 31 December 2025, the number of retail store locations carrying its products increased from over 350 at the start of 2025 to over 400 by the year’s end.
With the retail expansion, the HTC distribution deal, and twelve quarters of consecutive revenue growth now on record, the next test for LUCY is whether the Lucyd.co September launch converts that commercial momentum into a material step-up in quarterly sales.
