Sheffield-based MD Law has announced the establishment of its new employment law division, marking a significant expansion of the firm’s existing legal services. Lindsey Gaimster, a solicitor with over a decade of experience, has been appointed to lead this new division. This move is seen as a strategic enhancement to MD Law’s current focus areas including corporate law, business recovery, insolvency, litigation, and commercial property. By bringing in Gaimster, the firm aims to provide a comprehensive suite of employment law services.
Gaimster, who has held senior roles in prominent law firms within Sheffield and Doncaster, brings extensive experience to her new position. Her responsibilities will encompass advising on redundancies, restructures, director exits, business transfers, and contract reviews. While her immediate focus will be on catering to the needs of MD Law’s existing commercial clients, she is also expected to play a pivotal role in attracting new business opportunities.
The decision to internalise the employment law services reflects MD Law’s growing confidence in its commercial client base. Previously, such services were outsourced, but with the division’s formation, it is anticipated that client interactions will be more streamlined. The approach aligns with the firm’s commitment to providing professional yet accessible legal advice, an area where Gaimster’s ‘down to earth and friendly approach’ is believed to excel.
Matthew Dixon, founder of MD Law, expressed enthusiasm over Gaimster’s appointment, highlighting her ability to deliver complex legal advice in an easily understandable manner. With a team of 20 professionals, MD Law has established itself as a robust legal entity within South Yorkshire, and this latest development is poised to further enhance its reputation.
Gaimster, expressing her excitement about her new role, said, “I have worked with the MD Law team for a number of years, and what attracted me to join them was not only do they have great clients and a great ethos, but how they work aligned with my values, and within this industry sometimes that can get lost.” This sentiment underlines the shared vision between Gaimster and MD Law, ensuring the division’s objectives are closely aligned with the firm’s overarching goals.
The strategic launch of the employment law division under Gaimster’s leadership is expected to solidify MD Law’s standing in South Yorkshire’s legal landscape.
