Club Med has strategically announced the opening of nine new resort locations. This development is part of a broader initiative to enhance its global presence and appeal to luxury travellers.
The company plans to refurbish ten of its current resorts as well, a move intended to modernise facilities and improve overall guest experiences. Among these, enhancements will include upgrades to common areas and family amenities, and the modernisation of guest rooms to meet contemporary expectations.
Two French resorts, Vittel Ermitage and Serre Chevalier, are set to reopen in July and December 2024 respectively. This reopening is a testament to Club Med’s ongoing commitment to revitalising its offerings in key destinations.
Several resorts are slated for significant renovations. In April, Marrakech La Palmeraie in Morocco, Palmiye in Turkey, and Djerba in Tunisia will undergo transformations. July will see upgrades in Gregolimano, Greece, with additional refurbishments planned in Rio Das Pedras, Brazil, and Cancun, Mexico. Further renovations in 2025 will target locations in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Les Boucaniers, Martinique, and Phuket, Thailand.
These strategic enhancements are designed not only to improve infrastructure but also to enrich the luxury experience that Club Med promises its clientele. The refurbishments aim to extend family-friendly amenities, enhance swimming pool areas, and refresh guest accommodations to align with modern hospitality standards.
This initiative coincides with the conclusion of Club Med’s extensive 10-year project aimed at upscaling their resort portfolio to cater to a more discerning, luxury-focused clientele. Nicolas Bresch, overseeing regions including the UK and Ireland, highlighted the crucial role of customer loyalty and travel partners in achieving these milestones. Bresch emphasised the brand’s forward-looking goals, aiming to continue growing and serving its global client base.
Club Med’s comprehensive strategy to expand and refurbish its resorts is poised to bolster its position in the luxury travel sector.
