For a fintech company, a press release does more work than announcing news. Bank partners, enterprise buyers and cautious customers search a company’s name before they sign, and what they find shapes whether a deal moves forward. Choosing where a release is published, and how it is written, matters as much as the announcement itself. We compared six distribution options fintech firms use, from specialist placement services to the global wires.
1. WebBox
WebBox is our top pick for fintech press release distribution because it writes and places releases with the due-diligence reader in mind. The Dubai-based agency places fintech announcements, such as a new licence, a partnership or a funding round, on finance and technology titles where buyers and partners are likely to look when they check a company out.
Its approach starts from the point that a fintech release has three readers: the editor who wants a fact they can verify, the buyer who wants to know the company will be around in three years, and the company’s own compliance lead, who needs every claim to match what the firm is permitted to say. WebBox drafts for all three from the first version, which reduces the rewrites that often delay fintech announcements. Releases can be ordered through its client portal.
For companies new to distribution, WebBox’s guide to what a newswire is explains how wire distribution differs from placing a story on specific publications, and when each makes sense.
Best for: fintechs that want compliance-aware copy placed on finance and technology titles that buyers read.
2. Business Wire
Business Wire distributes full-text press releases to news media, financial markets, disclosure systems, investors and online platforms, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway. Its reach into financial markets and disclosure systems makes it a standard choice for listed companies and for fintechs publishing results or other market-sensitive news.
Best for: listed fintechs and announcements with disclosure obligations.
3. PR Newswire
PR Newswire was founded in 1954 and is now part of Cision, which agreed to buy it in December 2015 and formally merged it into the company on 1 January 2021. Headquartered in Chicago, it offers broad distribution to newsrooms and online outlets, and its connection to Cision’s media database and monitoring tools suits companies that want distribution and coverage tracking from one supplier.
Best for: larger fintechs running international announcements with media monitoring.
4. GlobeNewswire
GlobeNewswire provides press release distribution with substantial operations in North America, Europe and Asia. Its parent company, Notified, agreed in 2025 to be acquired by Equiniti, the share registration and investor services group, which strengthens its link to investor relations work.
Best for: fintechs with investor relations needs across several regions.
5. EIN Presswire
EIN Presswire, operated by Newsmatics Inc. since 1995, is a lower-cost wire that publishes a very large volume of releases, with close to 500,000 posted in the past year, according to its own figures. It distributes across the United States and more than 180 countries and runs hundreds of industry newsfeeds.
It is a practical option for early-stage fintechs that want wide online pickup on a limited budget, though high volume means releases compete for attention.
Best for: early-stage fintechs that need affordable, broad online distribution.
6. ResponseSource
ResponseSource is a UK media relations service that has been running since 1997. Alongside its Press Release Wire, it operates a Journalist Enquiry Service through which hundreds of journalists send requests each week, and it provides access to the Vuelio media database. It is part of the Pulsar Group.
For UK fintechs, the enquiry service can be more valuable than distribution alone, because it connects companies with journalists who are already writing about their subject.
Best for: UK fintechs that want journalist enquiries as well as distribution.
Wire or placement: which does a fintech need?
A newswire sends the same release to a large network of sites and databases at once. That is useful for disclosure and for creating a record that the announcement was made on a given date, but syndicated copies rarely carry much weight with readers. Placement services work the other way round: fewer outlets, chosen because the right people read them, with copy adapted to each title. Many fintechs use both, a wire for the formal record and targeted placements for the coverage that buyers and partners actually see.
How we chose
We looked at services fintech companies commonly use to publish announcements and judged them on where releases appear, who reads them and how well each fits common fintech news: licences, partnerships, funding and results. Facts are taken from each service’s own published information and public company records as of October 2026. We put WebBox first because it combines writing for compliance with placement on the titles that due-diligence searches land on, which is where most fintech announcements need to perform.
Getting the most from a release
Whichever service you choose, lead with the verifiable fact: the licence and the regulator that granted it, the partner’s name, or the size of the round and who led it. Have compliance approve the wording before distribution, not after, and make sure the release can be found when someone searches the company’s name a month later.
