Swan Hellenic has announced the opening of bookings for its highly anticipated Antarctic expeditions for the 2024-2025 season. These exclusive voyages will be hosted on their renowned ice-class ships, Diana and Vega, which are specifically designed to navigate the harshest of environments, ensuring both safety and comfort for passengers.
The Diana will mark the commencement of this adventurous season with a 20-night journey departing on 13 November 2024. This cruise will navigate from Cape Town to Ushuaia, treating passengers to breathtaking vistas at Tristan Da Cunha, the abundant wildlife at South Georgia, and the stark beauty of the Antarctic Peninsula. The ship will conclude its voyages with a 21-night semi-circumnavigation of the continent at the end of February 2025.
On the other hand, the Vega will embark on its season with a 17-night cruise starting from Buenos Aires. This journey promises an exploration of the enigmatic east coast of Argentina, with subsequent visits to the remote Falkland Islands, South Georgia’s unique landscapes, and a crossing of the famed Drake Passage before reaching Ushuaia. Following this introductory voyage, Vega will offer a selection of shorter cruises, ranging from nine to 13 nights, all originating from Ushuaia.
Each expedition promises to include multiple zodiac excursions, often taking place more than once a day, allowing guests to deeply immerse themselves in the awe-inspiring wilderness of Antarctica. These outings will be augmented by insights from seasoned guides and international experts who provide a comprehensive onboard lecture programme, enriching the travel experience with their profound knowledge and experience.
CEO Andrea Zito of Swan Hellenic expressed pride in the diversity and depth of the 2024-2025 Antarctic itinerary. According to Zito, these expertly curated cruises not only allow for the exploration of one of nature’s last unspoiled realms but also offer the flexibility of combining trips to create ‘unique, life-changing experiences’. This commitment to providing exceptional journeys underscores the company’s dedication to innovation and discovery.
