UK´s Daily Mirror has reported SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka, has celebrates 40 years of flight service, the publication said.
On September 1, 1979, the airlines´ first flight traveled from Colombo´s Bandaranaike International Airport to Bangkok, marking the beginning of four decades of air travel and air cargo transportation.
SriLankan Airlines carries millions of passengers each year with a route network of 109 cities in 48 countries, including codeshare operations in partnership with the world´s finest airlines. It is a leading airlines in the Indian Ocean region, and the largest carrier to both Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and the largest foreign airline in India.
