In response to heightened demand from travel agents, Solmar Villas has significantly expanded its portfolio in mainland Greece by introducing 18 new properties in the Halkidki and Olympus Riviera regions. This strategic move increases their total offering in Greece to 530 villas, underscoring the destination’s popularity among holidaymakers.
The company, now under the ownership of Der Touristik UK, has experienced a remarkable surge in trade sales revenue, doubling its figures compared to the previous year by January. This growth is a testament to the increased interest from agents, evidenced by over 1,000 new agent sign-ups on their Facebook page in just three months.
Julie Blake, the chief executive, has highlighted that easy flight connections from the UK make these regions appealing for travellers eager to explore new areas of Greece. This expansion complements their existing properties on the Peloponnese and Ionian Coasts, as well as the Greek islands.
The recent acquisition of more than 450 properties from James Villas has bolstered Solmar’s offerings, making this their most extensive portfolio yet. The company anticipates that by 2025, around 22% of its sales will originate from trade, supported by the impending dedicated agent support hub and phone line.
This successful growth trajectory has positioned the company well, particularly as consumers continue to prioritise holidays despite economic fluctuations. The new additions, conveniently located near Thessaloniki’s international airport, are perfectly placed to meet the evolving preferences of their clientele.
The expansion into Halkidki and Olympus Riviera, alongside strategic growth initiatives, positions Solmar Villas as a leader in the Greek holiday market.
