SGT, Inc. said it has appointed Michael T. Suffredini as the president of the commercial space division.
The new Commercial Space Division will focus SGT´s and its affiliated companies´, spaceflight engineering, operations and hardware development capabilities on space related commercial opportunities. Through private and public/private partnerships the division expects to play a significant role in the development of low Earth orbit capabilities to support and foster the growing economy and commercialization of space.
For the last ten years Suffredini has served as NASA´s International Space Station (ISS) Program Manager with responsibility for the development, assembly, sustainment, operation and utilization of the 460 metric ton, permanently manned international Earth orbiting laboratory complex. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the NASA Distinguished Service medal, NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal, the National Air and Space Museum Trophy for Current Achievement and the Yuri Gagarin Medal.
SGT provides technology solutions and services to the United States government for space programs, national security and civilian operations.
