- The pricing for these cruises starts at £2,749 in August for Rhine, Strasbourg & Heidelberg, and £2,199 in October for Burgundy and Rhone.
- Riviera Travel is responding to the growing demand for solo travel by expanding its offerings with twelve itineraries for solitary explorers.
In a progressive move to cater to the rising demand for solo travel, Riviera Travel has unveiled plans to eliminate single supplements on specific Rhine and Rhone river cruises slated for 2024. This initiative will make these popular European river cruises more financially accessible for travellers journeying alone. The travel operator has dedicated 533 cabins for individual adventurers, specifically on selected voyages departing in August and October.
This strategic move is centred around three principal itineraries: the Rhine, Strasbourg & Heidelberg; Rhine Cruise to Switzerland; and Burgundy, the River Rhone & Provence. These itineraries have been carefully chosen to include some of the most sought-after destinations in Europe, promising an enriching journey for solo travellers.
The pricing structure has been announced with departures in August for the Rhine, Strasbourg & Heidelberg cruise starting at £2,749, while the Burgundy, the River Rhone & Provence itinerary is available from £2,199 for those opting for the October schedule. These competitive rates are designed to encourage more solo travellers to embark on these scenic cruises, providing an opportunity to explore picturesque locations without the additional financial burden often associated with travelling alone.
Riviera Travel’s decision to remove single supplements aligns with its broader strategy of launching the most extensive array of solo sailings in its history. With twelve itineraries now tailored for the solo traveller community, the company recognises the increasing popularity of solo journeys and is committed to enhancing the travel experience for this particular segment. According to Will Sarson, head of cruising and long-haul product at Riviera Travel, “We know that demand for solo travel is increasing and therefore by removing the single supplement on some of our most popular Rhine and Rhone itineraries, we are ensuring more people can experience the wonderful ports of call and onshore activities across the finest waterways in Europe.”
Riviera Travel’s initiative marks a significant step towards making solo travel on premier European waterways more accessible and enjoyable.
