NASA has reported plans to televise the spacewalks of Expedition 50 astronauts on January 6 and 13, 2017 as they venture outside the international space station to perform a complex upgrade to the orbital outpost´s power system, the agency said.
On Wednesday, Jan. 4, NASA said it will air a briefing on NASA TV on January 4 from the agency´s Johnson Space Center in Houston to preview the spacewalk activities.
NASA said crew members will install adapter plates and hook up electrical connections for six new lithium-ion batteries on the right side truss of the space station.
This will be the 196th and 197th spacewalks in support of space station assembly and maintenance.
