Buenos Aires News has announced Argentina-based carrier LATAM Airlines has exited the oneworld alliance with no plans to join another alliance, the news source said.
LATAM is continuing to build a new partnership with Delta Air Lines following its agreement to partner in 2019.
As part of the 2019 agreement, Delta took over some of LATAM´s existing and future Airbus A350 aircraft while investing USD 1.9 billion into the carrier for a 20% equity stake. However, with Delta´s stake, it was clear that the airline would depart the oneworld Alliance.
LATAM said it has no interest in joining Skyteam at this time. In the future, it may be open to the opportunity.
