Hays Travel is set to integrate 450 new apprentices into its workforce, highlighting its ongoing endeavour to cultivate skilled personnel within the travel sector. These individuals will be positioned across numerous branches throughout the UK as well as at the company’s headquarters in Sunderland, signifying a considerable expansion in their operational capabilities.
This influx of apprentices coincides with the achievement of 14 head office apprentices who have successfully completed the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship programme. Completing this programme underscores their proficiency in customer service, readying them for more advanced roles within the company.
To commemorate this milestone, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines played host to a special event aboard their ship, Balmoral, as it was moored at the Port of Tyne. The event was attended by 30 apprentices who finished their apprenticeships in the recent nine months, celebrating their accomplishments with a unique onboard experience.
Fred Olsen’s Field Sales Manager, Mathew Foxcroft, expressed delight at having the opportunity to present their smaller-sized ship to the apprentices, emphasising the distinctiveness of Fred Olsen Cruise Lines compared to other operators. This hands-on experience not only celebrated the apprentices’ success but also offered insight into the cruise industry, enriching their future career paths.
The newly graduated apprentices left the event not only with remarkable memories but also equipped with goodie bags furnished by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, a gesture marking their entry into the professional realm. This occasion not only celebrated the apprentices’ achievements but also solidified the relationship between Hays Travel and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.
The event epitomised a successful partnership between education and industry, setting a precedent for future collaborations.
