The non-profit Car Care Council has suggested travel by car spares Americans increased airfares, checked baggage fees and extended wait times in airport security lines, the council said.
According to the Car Care Council, there appears to be no relief in sight when it comes to the headaches of standing in line for hours to board an overcrowded plane after paying extra to check bags. More travelers are realizing the benefits of driving to their destinations. A family of four can travel approximately 1,000 miles round-trip by car for about the cost of one airline ticket.
The Car Care Council is the source of information for the Be Car Care Aware consumer education campaign promoting the benefits of regular vehicle care, maintenance and repair to consumers.
