The delivery company DEXL, a part of The APC network, has committed resources to expand its operations in Cardiff, a strategic move to boost its overnight parcel collection and delivery capabilities. This decision comes in response to a significant increase in the demand for parcel services from their customer base, underscoring DEXL’s intention to strengthen its regional presence while meeting rising customer expectations.
The investment, centred on a 5,000 square foot facility, marks a considerable enhancement in DEXL’s infrastructure. The company currently serves clients across CF, DN, and SK postcodes, which encompass areas in South Wales, South Yorkshire, and Greater Manchester. This expansion is aimed at not only supporting current operations but also scaling future growth as it continues to employ 94 staff members across these strategic locations.
In alignment with its expansion plans, DEXL has introduced new vehicles to its fleet, comprising three heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and seven electric vehicles (EVs), which include both vans and company cars. This move is a testament to DEXL’s commitment to incorporating sustainable practices within its business model, as it plans to further increase these numbers under its long-term strategic objectives.
The company’s approach is significantly influenced by its commitment to providing exceptional local customer service while leveraging the expansive reach of The APC network. Aaron Cullumbine, the commercial director, noted the importance of delivering national services without sacrificing the quality of local service, which remains critical for the sustainability and growth of many small and medium enterprises.
Jonathan Smith, The APC’s chief executive, added that investments such as these ensure that customers receive improved, efficient, and sustainable service options. He expressed confidence in the capability and entrepreneurial spirit of DEXL’s personnel to continue meeting customer needs effectively both now and in the future.
The strategic investments by DEXL in Cardiff are set to enhance its service quality and operational sustainability.
