As one of only two law firms authorised by the NFU in the South West, Clarke Willmott’s agriculture sector team, led by partner Esther Woolford, has been instrumental in providing expert legal advice. Woolford expressed gratitude for the award, underscoring the team’s proficiency and their substantial role within the agricultural legal landscape of the UK. The firm’s commitment has been heralded by Regina Owusu, the NFU’s legal assistance scheme manager, who noted the outstanding services provided by Clarke Willmott’s team. Tim Carson, representing the NFU’s Legal Assistance Scheme in the region, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the firm’s readiness to assist even outside typical office hours, which has been highly praised by NFU members.
Recently, Clarke Willmott played a pivotal role in aiding farmers to successfully claim significant financial settlements. Working alongside the NFU and Maitland Chambers, the firm supported 17 claimants in a High Court action against financial institutions over mis-sold finance agreements.
