Advantage Travel Partnership, a leading player in the travel industry, has committed to strengthening its training and development offerings for its members. This move is intended to equip travel professionals with the necessary skills for a rapidly evolving market.
Core to this initiative is the introduction of a comprehensive training schedule that will serve various segments within the industry, including frontline agents, new industry entrants, and experienced mentors. Such a diverse programme is designed to enhance the capabilities of those at different stages of their careers.
Starting in June, the Frontliners course is set to benefit frontline travel consultants by providing them with in-depth knowledge of Advantage’s product portfolio. This course is particularly aimed at fortifying their sales capabilities and ensuring that they are well-prepared to engage with clients effectively.
For those new to the travel sector or returning after a hiatus, a bespoke training programme will be rolled out. Advantage has partnered with AS Training to deliver this initiative, available across the UK. Its goal is to refresh and elevate the skill sets of travel consultants, making them adept and competitive in the industry.
Importantly, the consortium introduces a mentoring and executive coaching scheme tailored for business owners and managers. This scheme is structured to provide one-on-one sessions with experienced executive coaches, aimed at helping these leaders identify business strengths, overcome challenges, and seize growth opportunities.
Furthermore, in preparation for the peak sales season, Advantage will conduct interactive sessions in November and December. These ‘Peak Performers’ initiatives will hone members’ sales and customer service skills while fostering networking opportunities with key suppliers.
Kelly Cookes, the chief commercial officer, underscores the significance of these initiatives, noting the considerable investment in their business development team which has identified critical training needs within the membership. Cookes articulates a clear vision for enhancing the professional competencies of Advantage members, ensuring they are well-equipped to thrive in the competitive travel market.
Advantage’s comprehensive training strategy reflects a proactive approach to fostering skill development in the travel industry.
