A prominent national law firm has launched an innovative legal platform specifically designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), tech companies, and start-ups. This platform integrates various services including document generation, a comprehensive training module known as the ‘Academy’, and direct legal advice through ‘legal credits’. The platform, branded as ‘My Digital Lawyer (MDL)’, is being offered at an annual subscription fee of £1,500 for a single-user access.
Claire Knowles, the managing partner of Acuity Law, has emphasised that this newly developed platform stands unparalleled in terms of the integrated support it provides, highlighting its availability to any business irrespective of size. Acuity Law asserts that this 360-degree digital support, complemented by lawyer-led personal assistance, distinguishes MDL from other offerings. The firm has identified a growing demand among clients for instant access to legal documents and created an original portal four years prior to cater to this need.
The latest iteration of this service has been refined over the past two years, integrating technological advancements more deeply into legal service delivery. Acuity Law’s departments have progressively aligned under this unified platform, offering a cohesive legal solution.
MDL also comprises a ‘Knowledge Bank,’ a repository offering updates on legal changes, thereby equipping users with current legislative knowledge. Additionally, the platform provides ‘Document Assist’, a tool for the generation of legal documents by clients themselves.
Developed in-house, the platform was the result of collaboration between Acuity’s software developers, operational directors, marketing team members, and legal experts. Claire Knowles remarks that the firm’s commitment is not limited to just providing legal advice but extends to delivering comprehensive business-to-business legal solutions. This holistic approach is aimed at enhancing client service efficacy through technology.
Acuity Law, headquartered in Cardiff and employing over 120 staff with 45 consulting lawyers, facilitates flexible working arrangements across its various offices, including locations in Swansea, London, and other major cities. The firm has no immediate plans for further office expansion but is actively pursuing a growth strategy through acquisitions.
While some apprehensions exist regarding the increasing role of technology in replacing traditional jobs, Acuity Law embraces this progression, aspiring to enhance client service efficiency. Chairman Steve Berry assures clients and the business community of ongoing developments in My Digital Lawyer, indicating future enhancements in tools and services.
This comprehensive platform marks a significant advancement in legal service delivery, reflecting the evolving landscape of legal technology.
