KORE has announced that Ian Baragar has been elected to the post of PTCRB IoT Sub-Working Group Chair, under the CTIA Certification LLC, the wireless industry´s device certification organization, the company said.
PTCRB defines the wireless industry´s strict requirements to verify compliance with global industry standards for a wide range of cellular devices, from IoT solutions to consumer handsets. PTCRB certification helps mobile operators and device manufacturers ensure device interoperability with global wireless networks, eliminating the disruptive risk of having devices blocked on wireless networks.
In his role as a PTCRB Operator Board Member, Ian shares responsibilities with other wireless industry leaders from AT&T and T-Mobile who chair and co-chair PTCRB respectively. Ian helps to define the certification requirements for IoT devices, gain acceptance for IoT device certification changes, and act as a point of contact and liaison with other IoT certification and standards groups to build harmonization and leverage standardization and best practices across the industry.
