Trellus Health administration became formal on 24 August 2026, when Paul Zalkin and Tom Parish of Quantuma Advisory were appointed as joint administrators, according to The Gazette. Shareholders face a total wipeout.
The AIM-listed company, which ran a digital platform for managing complex chronic conditions, said it had concluded it no longer had sufficient funds to continue trading as a going concern. The appointment was made to protect the interests of creditors.
Trellus Health Administration Timeline and AIM Cancellation
The company had filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators ahead of the 24 August appointment, which is recorded as case number IP No. 18612 before the Business and Property Courts in England and Wales, according to K2 Partners.
Shares in TRLS were suspended in May after losing almost all of their value compared to recent highs. Under AIM rules, if no new nominated adviser is appointed within six weeks of the administration filing, the shares will be cancelled from trading. The London Stock Exchange notice states the company expects that cancellation to take effect on 5 October 2026.
TRLS was first admitted to trading on AIM in May 2021. In January 2026, the company issued 19.2 million new ordinary shares to settle loan note fees, bringing the total shares in issue to 180,739,102, investing.com reported.
US Subsidiary and Creditor Position
Trellus Health is still attempting to sell assets, including the shares in its US operating subsidiary, Trellus Health Inc. Even if a sale is successfully concluded, the company has warned shareholders should not expect any return.
Prior to the administration, Trellus Health Inc. entered into a $260,000 unsecured loan agreement with Mount Sinai Health System, Sharecast reported. That loan is repayable by 19 June 2027, or within 90 days of a potential sale of the US subsidiary, according to a company update published on Investegate.
The administration follows months of funding difficulties. The company had cut its monthly cash burn to around $300,000 by March and repeatedly extended its cash runway through cost-cutting, including pay reductions and renegotiated supplier contracts. It was unable to secure the long-term funding it needed, with its convertible loan facility constrained by market conditions.
The five-business-day window for formal appointment has now passed, with administrators confirmed in post. The sale process for Trellus Health Inc. is the remaining variable; its outcome will determine whether creditors recover anything before the AIM cancellation date of 5 October 2026.
