Aldi invites customers to recognise standout employees by nominating them for a special award.
- Shoppers can nominate colleagues who’ve positively impacted their day, such as through helpful service or friendly interaction.
- Top-nominated colleagues will receive a spa break for two, recognising their hard work and dedication.
- This initiative coincides with World Kindness Day, highlighting the importance of appreciating everyday kindnesses.
- Aldi also calls on UK charities to register for surplus food donations, aiding community support initiatives.
Ahead of World Kindness Day on 13 November, Aldi is actively encouraging its shoppers to celebrate its employees who go above and beyond in delivering exceptional customer experiences. By inviting nominations for colleagues who have made a positive impact, whether through helping customers find products or engaging in friendly conversation, Aldi is spotlighting the vital role its staff play in cultivating a supportive shopping environment.
To participate in this commendable initiative, customers are asked to submit the name of the colleague, their store location, and a brief explanation of up to 100 words detailing why they deserve recognition. The nominations are to be sent to a specified email address by 11 December.
The colleagues receiving the highest number of nominations will be rewarded with a spa break for two, recognising their commitment and contribution to customer satisfaction. This scheme not only rewards individual staff members but also aligns with Aldi’s broader efforts to foster a culture of recognition and gratitude among its workforce.
In addition to recognising its colleagues, Aldi is extending its community support by inviting charities, community groups, and food banks across the UK to sign up for surplus food donations during the festive season. Through its partnership with Neighbourly, Aldi will pair charities with local stores to facilitate the collection of fresh and chilled food items nearing the end of their shelf life.
Aldi’s communications director, Richard Thornton, emphasised the significance of this initiative, noting the impact of small gestures in today’s fast-paced world. He stated, “At Aldi we know the impact that small gestures can have, especially in today’s fast-paced world. This initiative is a heartfelt reminder of the essential role our colleagues play in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our customers.”
Aldi’s efforts to recognise and reward its employees, coupled with its commitment to community support via food donations, underscores an ongoing dedication to fostering goodwill and positive relations both within the company and the broader community.
