Merseyside business John Mason International Movers are proud to have been presented with the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise 2024 in Liverpool on November 11th.
Specialising in international trade, the business has been recognised by the Monarch for their outstanding contribution to customer service and operational excellence.
The event on Liverpool’s waterfront at the historic Royal Liver building included a ceremony and reading of the ‘Grant of Appointment’ by the Deputy Lieutenant. Upon which the King’s personal representative, Lord-Lieutenant Blundell, bestowed the Crystal to Executive Director Simon Hood.

The King’s Award for Enterprise is the highest accolade a UK business can receive, celebrating an organisation’s continual innovation and success across various sectors. Enacted by Royal Warrant in 1965, for over fifty years this award has recognised business’s contribution to the country – how they help to celebrate the best of Britain.
In personal letters, both HRH the Princess Royale and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh extended their congratulations to Simon Hood and all team members at John Mason on receiving the prestigious award.
Simon says: “”Receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise is a testament to the dedication of our entire team, who put customer care at the heart of everything we do. This award isn’t just for the company, but for every individual who has helped make John Mason International the trusted name it is today.”

Operating since 1884, John Mason International has grown from humble beginnings as a family coal delivery business in Merseyside to the UK’s leading international moving company.
Providing over 10,000 people each year with relocations across the globe, unlike many across the sector, John Mason has over a century of expertise to make this process simple and seamless.
In recent years, the John Mason International family had to overcome a number of challenges from post-Brexit customs regulations to the intimate pressures of homeworking during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an industry that centres itself on movement and freedom, the business had to innovate and adapt the way they communicated with customers, thriving on this change.
Their expertise and innovation post-pandemic rewarded them with a record year in 2022, cementing the business as the largest and fastest growing removals company in the UK, a feat in which the King’s award helps to recognise.

Ian Studd, Director General of the British Association of Removers, who attended the celebration, says: “”This award underscores John Mason’s ongoing innovation and dedication, which has ensured the company’s success not just in the UK, but on a global scale. It’s an honour to celebrate such an incredible achievement with a business that places family values and customer satisfaction at the forefront.”
Simon added: “Our business has thrived for over 140 years by consistently adapting and innovating. We are immensely proud of our Merseyside roots and humbled by the recognition of our commitment to excellence in international trade. This award highlights the trust our customers place in us, and it reinforces our promise to continue delivering seamless, stress-free moves across the globe.”
