ECL Civil Engineering has announced a significant £10m investment in upgrading its machinery fleet.

ECL Civil Engineering, a reputable firm based in Bedford, has ventured into a £10 million investment to upgrade its plant fleet. This substantial investment involves an order of 90 machines from Marubeni-Komatsu, a leading provider of construction equipment. The decision to upgrade the fleet underscores ECL’s commitment to maintaining high standards in safety and efficiency within its operational practices.
The agreement with Marubeni-Komatsu encompasses a diverse range of machinery. Notable inclusions are 40 Komatsu PC55 crawler excavators, 24 PC138 crawler excavators, and 10 units of the PC210 crawler excavators. Adding to this impressive roster are three Komatsu PW148 wheeled loaders and two 19-tonne D61 dozers. The strategic assortment of equipment is poised to enhance ECL’s capabilities significantly.
Delivery of the machinery is scheduled to begin this week, with the initial batch featuring five Komatsu PC210 excavators. This timely delivery is critical as it aligns with ECL’s operational timelines and expansion plans. The acquisition not only boosts the company’s fleet but also ensures that ECL remains at the forefront of implementing greener and more efficient construction practices.
Steve Tysoe, Managing Director at ECL, expressed that their primary goal with this investment is to extend and replenish the fleet while ensuring safety and efficiency.
