- Balfour Beatty also makes significant gains, completing three notable contracts worth £204m.
- Morgan Sindall remains the top contract-winner annually, maintaining a significant lead over competitors.
Multiplex has once again ascended to the top rank of the monthly contracts league, largely driven by its involvement in the £480m Fifty Fenchurch Street project, a distinctive skyscraper in the City of London. This accomplishment marks their return to the foremost position for the second time within a year, as reported by Glenigan. The skyscraper, poised to enhance the bustling Square Mile’s skyline, endows Multiplex with notable acclaim and demonstrates its enduring influence in the high-stakes domain of office construction projects.
The Australian multinational secured the leading status in June, surpassing competitors by a considerable margin. By clinching the Fifty Fenchurch contract, Multiplex substantially outperformed the month’s second-place contractor, Bowmer & Kirkland, who amassed a total of £231m.
Bowmer & Kirkland, a family-operated enterprise, had an impressive month, highlighted by a £189m project to expand Warner Bros’ Leavesden studios—home to the famed Harry Potter attraction. In addition, they added two further contracts totalling £42m to their portfolio. Their achievements underscore the firm’s ongoing prowess and adaptability in the competitive market.
Following closely, Balfour Beatty made a remarkable impact, securing three contracts amassing £204m in total value. Meanwhile, John Sisk & Son, after topping the previous month, did not secure a place in the top fifty, reflecting the dynamic nature of the rankings.
The annual league standings saw Morgan Sindall maintain dominance, leading both in financial scope and contract volume, with 285 agreements worth a staggering £2.55bn. A notable achievement includes their £90m fit-out work for One Leadenhall—a project Multiplex is also involved in. This confirms Morgan Sindall’s strategic advantage and continued reign in the sector.
Multiplex’s performance in June reaffirms its pivotal role in transforming London’s skyline, while industry leaders continue to jockey for top positions.
