Willmott Dixon, a well-regarded construction company, has secured a significant contract to develop a multi-storey car park at Royal Derby Hospital. The developer Noviniti has entrusted the firm with a project valued at £16.8 million, which is anticipated to greatly enhance the hospital’s infrastructure.
This project entails the creation of a substantial five-storey car park, which will effectively provide an additional 500 parking spaces. The new facility will supersede the current surface level parking, aiming to alleviate parking challenges within the hospital vicinity.
In preparation for the main construction activities, Willmott Dixon has already implemented a temporary car park solution. The provision includes a park-and-ride system that is currently operational, mitigating any potential inconvenience to hospital visitors during the construction phase.
Willmott Dixon’s previous projects lend credibility to their capability in executing such ventures efficiently. Notably, they recently completed a 654-space multi-storey car park at Dorset County Hospital and are currently engaged in a similar project at Darlington railway station.
The anticipated completion date for the Royal Derby Hospital car park is summer 2025, marking an important milestone in improving the transportation infrastructure supporting the hospital’s operations.
This project underscores Willmott Dixon’s ongoing commitment to enhancing infrastructure in vital public sectors.
