The building reflects Daimler Truck’s dedication to sustainability, achieving an impressive 85% BREEAM rating. This eco-conscious facility includes features such as high ceiling clearance and natural light panels to lower energy consumption, alongside a rainwater collection system that supplies water to office restrooms. The development of an electric truck charging station, powered by solar panels, is also planned, further underscoring the company’s forward-thinking environmental initiatives.
During the opening ceremony, Heiko Selzam, Managing Director of Daimler Truck UK, emphasised the strategic importance of this move. He articulated that separating from the car and van divisions has allowed Daimler Truck to focus squarely on its core competencies within the truck sector. Selzam stated, “The opening of this site represents the final step in the process of dedicating ourselves entirely to the needs of truck operators, and our dealer network, in the UK.”
Nick Andrews, Managing Director of Daimler Truck Financial Services UK, expanded on the benefits of the new headquarters.
