Jane Gough has been appointed as the new regulatory trainer for The Right Mortgage & Protection Network, a move that underscores the network’s commitment to bolstering its human resources. With over two decades of experience in the mortgage industry, Gough is set to revolutionise the approach towards regulatory training throughout the network.
Having previously served as a senior mortgage consultant at Express Mortgages, and having run her own advisory firm, Jane Gough Mortgages, Gough is equipped with a profound understanding of the mortgage sector. Her professional journey also includes valuable experiences at Countrywide Mortgages, which have endowed her with significant insights into advisory roles.
Reporting directly to Aidan McCarthy, head of regulatory training, Gough is tasked with the critical responsibility of enhancing and developing the training materials offered to all appointed representative (AR) firms. This role is focused not only on the delivery but also on the continuous improvement of regulatory training programmes.
Ben Allen, compliance director at The Right Mortgage, expressed confidence in Gough’s capabilities. He believes that her extensive experience as a mortgage adviser will be instrumental in navigating the shifting regulatory environment, particularly with new Consumer Duty regulations coming into effect. “This should pay dividends for both us as a network and our adviser firms who will benefit from our growth and development,” Allen remarked.
In her own words, Gough articulated her enthusiasm for the role, highlighting the alignment between her personal values and those of The Right Mortgage. She had considered moving away from mortgage advice but found this opportunity irresistible, noting that it allows her to leverage her industry experience for the benefit of the network and its appointed representatives.
Jane Gough’s appointment represents a strategic move towards strengthening The Right Mortgage’s regulatory training framework, promising considerable benefits for its network.
