Glencar, a prominent construction company in the UK, has once again been appointed by Verdant Regeneration to undertake the construction of two new industrial units at the New Stanton Park Development site in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. These units will cover a total area of 31,530 square feet. This reappointment comes shortly after Glencar successfully completed a regional hub for DX Group at the same site, which was a 20,400 square foot build-to-suit project.
The new development is situated strategically in the Midlands, adjacent to the M1 motorway, making it an ideal location for businesses that rely on both road and rail networks. This advantageous positioning has already piqued the interest of numerous international, national, and regional occupiers, who see the potential for significant logistical benefits.
Glencar has commenced work on what are designated as Unit Five and Unit Six. The company aims to complete the £4.4 million project within a 34-week timeframe, reflecting their commitment to efficient and timely project delivery. Pete Goodman, Glencar’s Managing Director for the UK Midlands, North, and Ireland, emphasises the company’s delight in returning to New Stanton Park and contributing to such a significant development.
David Ward, a director at Verdant Regeneration, expressed similar enthusiasm for the project. He highlighted the site’s excellent logistics potential, combining strong private and public transport connectivity with an active rail link. This project represents years of design and planning efforts coming to fruition, as the buildings begin to emerge at the site.
