York emerged as the front-runner, boasting a culture score of 78.36 and an impeccable green space score of 100, culminating in a final index score of 70.75, substantially higher than the national average of 50.90. Nottingham followed closely with a commendable final index score of 69.48, aided significantly by an excellent utilities score reflective of below-average energy prices.
Occupying the third spot, Blackpool achieved a score of 68.61, its position bolstered by an impressive culture score and a noted reduction in violent crime rates. Edinburgh secured the fourth position with a final index of 67.93, offering a range of green spaces and energy prices considered competitive.
