In a strategic consolidation, Guest Motor Group and Sherwood Truck and Van have merged their operations. This significant move involves rebranding Sherwood’s existing outlets as Guest Truck and Van, a decision that augments the group’s presence throughout the Midlands, East Anglian, and northern regions. This merger formalises a long-standing association between the two dealerships, both operating under the umbrella of Ian Guest Holdings since 2011.
The geographical integration sees locations in Nottingham, Sheffield, Alfreton, Stoke-on-Trent, and Winsford rebranded, offering a seamless transition for customers. These locations, familiar with the Guest and Sherwood names, will maintain their established relationships, ensuring uninterrupted and familiar service quality.
Robert Spittle, Managing Director of Guest Motor Group, has articulated that this merger is viewed as a natural evolution in the ownership and operation of Sherwood Truck and Van. “This brand integration is a natural progression in our ownership of Sherwood Truck and Van. Our customers already know and trust the Guest brand, and now we’re reinforcing that trust by uniting our operations under one cohesive identity,” Spittle remarked. The objective remains to deliver a unified and comprehensive customer service experience throughout the network.
The consolidation aligns with Guest Motor Group’s philosophy of delivering comprehensive automotive solutions encompassing sales, fleet management, and parts offerings. Sherwood’s clientele will continue to access Guest’s extensive range, including Distrigo Parts and Vehicle Lining Services, benefitting from the expert service recognised by both brands. The group’s fleet management division, Sentinel, will retain its association with Sherwood Truck and Van Ltd, ensuring continuity for existing service agreements.
Despite the rebranding, the core operational ethos remains steady. Spittle reassured stakeholders, indicating that business will proceed as usual, underscoring commitments to quality automotive services from initial purchase through to complete fleet management. The merger is seen as a reinforcement of their service promise. Thanks were extended to staff and advisors Sarah Ward and Laura Crackle from George Green LLP for their support during the transition.
The merger between Guest Motor Group and Sherwood Truck and Van signifies a strategic enhancement in service unity and operational reach.
