Riverside Luxury Cruises has marked a milestone with the christening of its second ship, Riverside Ravel. The event, held in the picturesque town of Viviers, France, was not just a ceremonial occasion but also an opportunity for guests to experience a celebratory gala dinner and an exclusive sailing. Esteemed attendees included German media representatives, tour operators, and travel agents, symbolising a significant engagement within the industry.
A forthcoming event is set for 20 August 2023, designed to captivate the UK trade and media. This reflects Riverside Luxury Cruises’ commitment to broadening its reach and fortifying connections within the UK market.
Operating on the Rhone, the Riverside Ravel is equipped with 55 elegantly designed suites, providing round-the-clock butler service to ensure unparalleled guest comfort. The ship boasts four distinct restaurants and a comprehensive fitness centre, complete with a swimming pool, gym, and spa, catering to the wellness and culinary desires of its discerning guests.
This expansion is part of a broader strategic initiative by Riverside Luxury Cruises to enhance its presence in the luxury river cruise segment. Following their acquisition of the Crystal Cruises river fleet, the company has rapidly progressed, initiating operations earlier in April with Riverside Mozart navigating the Danube.
Anouchka Gerlach, co-founder of Riverside Luxury Cruises, expressed her enthusiasm stating, “We are delighted that we can now offer our guests the French way of life with the Ravel.” The culinary experiences aboard are uniquely tailored to the regions travelled, and specially curated on-land experiences are planned, showcasing Riverside’s commitment to regional authenticity and guest satisfaction. Riverside further augmented its fleet by acquiring vessels initially part of Crystal Cruises, namely MS Bach, MS Mahler, and MS Debussy. Gerlach remarked on the acquisition’s significance, noting it allows Riverside to offer unmatched space and service elegance to its guests.
The christening of the Riverside Ravel signifies a strategic step forward in Riverside Luxury Cruises’ expansion within the luxury river cruise market.
