Windstar Cruises is gearing up to launch its most extensive ship visit programme in the United Kingdom, aiming to accommodate up to 450 trade partners. Spanning the summer months of June, July, and August, this initiative underscores Windstar’s dedication to increasing its presence and engagement with UK trade partners across a series of events situated at 11 diverse ports.
The programme facilitates agents’ visits aboard two of Windstar’s star yachts, the Star Legend and Star Pride, extending a detailed tour followed by a concise company update. These engagements are set against the backdrop of significant locations, providing an immersive cruise experience.
Star Legend is scheduled to make its appearance in key locations such as Glasgow, Cork, Milford Haven, and Portsmouth, commencing in early June. The itinerary further incorporates high-profile visits to London over two days in mid-June, followed by engagements in Holyhead and Belfast. Subsequent visits in July and August will include destinations like Douglas, Dublin, Invergordon, and Edinburgh, before concluding in Dublin.
Meanwhile, Star Pride is set to welcome delegates for interactions in Dublin and Edinburgh, with events initiating on the 3rd of June. This strategic scheduling not only diversifies the ports of call but also broadens the opportunity for engagement with a wider spectrum of trade partners.
Augustus Lonsdale, Windstar’s head of sales for the UK and Ireland, remarked on the programme’s success as a continuation of last year’s achievements. He expressed enthusiasm over the increased access UK agents will have to new experiences aboard the Star Legend and Star Pride. Moreover, the programme aligns with Windstar’s expansion efforts, particularly highlighted by the addition of two new all-suite motor yachts, the Star Seeker and Star Explorer.
Windstar Cruises’ strategic expansion signals a robust commitment to enhancing its footprint in the UK cruise market.
