Wilmotts Transport, celebrated for its expertise in warehousing and distribution, has strategically expanded its operational capacity by integrating 60 high-spec Tiger curtainsiders. This expansion is a direct response to the requirements of a newly acquired contract with a prominent corrugated cardboard manufacturer, necessitating prompt provision of trailers.
The recent addition raises Wilmotts’ fleet to over 250 trailers, marking a significant milestone in their collaboration with Cheshire-based Tiger Trailers, which has been the primary supplier for 80% of their fleet over the past five years. Such a robust partnership underscores the mutual trust and aligned operational goals between the two entities.
The new trailers are not just any standard model; half of them are standard-height, while the other half boast a height of 4.7 metres to accommodate varying cargo sizes, thus enhancing operational versatility. This dual design underscores the company’s commitment to meeting specific client demands while maintaining operational efficiency.
Specifications of these trailers are notably advanced, incorporating Wabco’s EBS braking system, Axscend’s BPMS, a reversing camera, two LED reversing lamps, and a branch guard at the header. Such features not only enhance safety but also ensure that the trailers meet modern operational standards, thereby solidifying Wilmotts’ reputation as a forward-thinking logistics provider.
Group Managing Director Andy Stott remarked on the aesthetic and operational benefits these trailers bring, stating, “They will look really striking out on the road and provide first-class representation when delivering for our customers.” Emphasising the brand’s commitment to quality, Stott highlighted their BRCGS certification, which assures customers of clean and reliable transport partners.
Wilmotts Transport’s strategic fleet expansion with Tiger Trailers positions them robustly in the logistics sector, ensuring enhanced service delivery.
