- The company has placed an order for seven of these advanced machines, targeting highway construction tasks.
- Three units are already operational, supplied by Holt JCB, and another three models complement the existing fleet.
- The JCB 370X boasts a powerful engine and superior fuel efficiency, promising significant operational advantages.
- Walters Group remains committed to supporting UK manufacturing with its choice to invest in JCB’s latest excavators.
The Walters Group, based in South Wales, is fortifying its equipment lineup with an order of seven JCB 370X crawler excavators. This strategic addition aims to boost their efficiency in handling earthworks, particularly on highway projects.
Three of these state-of-the-art machines, supplied by dealer Holt JCB, have already transitioned from production at JCB’s Staffordshire facility to active duty. The deployment of these excavators signifies Walters Group’s focus on enhancing their operational capacity.
The JCB 370X is part of JCB’s recent innovations in heavy machinery. It’s powered by a Stage V/T4F 240kW (322hp) diesel engine, notable for its ability to move 4.5 tonnes more material per litre of fuel than comparable models, offering a substantial advantage in cost-effectiveness and environmental impact.
Another key feature of the 370X is the JCB UX user interface, which includes a 10-inch touchscreen display that enhances operator control and efficiency. This technological edge aligns with the industry’s shift towards more user-friendly and productive machinery.
Walters Group’s decision also reflects a commitment to UK manufacturing, as highlighted by chief operating officer, Huw Richards. He remarked on the limited availability of UK-made excavators, expressing enthusiasm for supporting JCB’s medium-sized excavator category. “The JCB 370X looks an extremely impressive excavator and, having gone through extensive testing pre-launch, we look forward to their introduction into our fleet,” said Richards.
Walters Group’s investment in JCB’s 370X excavators marks a significant step in advancing their project capabilities while supporting UK manufacturing.
