- Agents will explore various destinations like Cape Verde and Marella Cruises.
- Tui aims to highlight its customer loyalty through these enriched experiences.
Tui UK & Ireland has launched a groundbreaking initiative dubbed ‘Tui Wanderlust’, designed to significantly enhance the expertise of nearly 200 independent agents. This strategic programme aims to engage agents with the company’s core concepts by offering immersive educational trips throughout 2024, thus deepening their understanding of Tui’s unique holiday offerings.
These educational trips, 14 of which have already been confirmed, will see agents engaging with different aspects of Tui’s offerings. The initiative provides an opportunity to partake in experiences such as a Marella cruise, a Tui Lakes and Mountains trip, or a visit to a main beach destination. The first of these expeditions, a trip to Cape Verde, is scheduled for March.
Structured with an emphasis on quality over quantity, these trips will limit hotel visits, allowing agents the time necessary to fully immerse in and appreciate each destination and concept. The overarching aim is to develop agents’ abilities to map their customer types to Tui’s expansive array of exclusive hotels and unique concept offerings, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of the brand’s customer-centric approach.
Hayley Vaughan, head of the trade relations support team, has been instrumental in structuring these experiences around the Tui concepts and the customer journey. By limiting hotel visits, the programme enables agents to focus on understanding what sets Tui apart in the competitive travel industry.
UK & Ireland chief marketing officer Neil Swanson articulated this vision succinctly, stating, “Our aim is to foster a comprehensive understanding among agents showing the reasons behind our customers’ loyalty and repeated visits to our hotels.” By enabling agents to experience travel from the perspective of the customer, Tui reinforces the critical link between agent knowledge and customer satisfaction.
To further support this educational endeavour, Tui plans to incorporate expert insights at each destination. A dedicated Tui expert will accompany agents, equipping them with insider knowledge and expert training on various hotel types and locations. This comprehensive approach ensures agents complete the tours with enhanced skills and insights, primed to guide customers with newfound expertise.
Tui’s ‘Wanderlust’ initiative ingeniously aligns agent training with customer experiences to bolster its brand essence.
