TUI River Cruises is set to expand its fleet with the newly refurbished TUI Ria, which is scheduled to sail on the Rhine and Moselle rivers starting in 2026. This decision follows a significant 17% increase in bookings year-over-year, highlighting the growing demand for river cruises in Europe. The ship will accommodate up to 190 passengers, making it the largest in the TUI River Cruises fleet.
The TUI Ria will feature several innovative amenities designed to enhance the passenger experience. Notably, it will be the first among TUI’s European vessels to include a pool that offers panoramic views, doubling as a secondary dining area. The ship will also boast a sauna, sun loungers, a putting green, and shuffleboard on the upper deck, alongside several restaurants, lounges, and entertainment spaces.
Operating out of Amsterdam, Basel, and Frankfurt, the TUI Ria will feature six, seven, eight, and nine-night itineraries. In addition to these options, three new itineraries will be introduced, bringing the total number of travel routes to nine. The maiden voyage routes include the Moselle & North Rhine itinerary from Frankfurt and the Dutch Delta Discovery from Amsterdam, offering travellers increased flexibility and variety.
Passengers can expect a range of cabin options, including standard French balcony cabins and superior cabins, providing a more luxurious experience. The ship’s design and amenities are tailored to offer an elevated experience for those exploring Europe’s majestic rivers. The sailings are designed to cater to adult-only passengers, ensuring a serene and sophisticated onboard atmosphere.
Additionally, new flight routes from Newcastle to Frankfurt and Bristol to Amsterdam will support the expanded cruise options, with flights selected for specific dates and itineraries. This strategic development facilitates easier access for UK travellers, aligning with the operator’s vision for broader accessibility and enhanced travel experiences.
TUI River Cruises is poised to captivate travellers with new offerings and increased capacity on Europe’s stunning rivers.
