Trebor Developments, a leading property developer, has tasked Glencar with the construction of Crewe 335, a major distribution centre located strategically within Crewe’s prominent commercial area. Situated within a mile of the A500 Dual Carriageway and approximately four miles from Junction 16 of the M6 motorway, the development offers significant logistical advantages, thus attracting prominent local businesses, including AO, Bentley, BAE Systems, and Buffaload Logistics.
The development, measuring 35,000 square feet, is anticipated to reach completion by the upcoming spring. It will feature a 15-metre eaves height, Grade A office spaces, and both dock and level access loading doors, accompanied by yard depths extending up to 56 metres. A dedicated car parking area will also be included, all encased within a secure and self-contained site. Notably, the development will incorporate several sustainable and innovative elements, such as a solar-panelled roof, 10% roof lights, electric vehicle charging stations, and designated areas for the wellbeing of staff.
Designed with a focus on sustainability, Crewe 335 aims to meet BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standards whilst targeting an EPC ‘A’ rating, thus positioning itself as a forefront leader in sustainable construction within the industrial and logistics sector. The inclusion of features such as cycle spaces further highlights its commitment to green building practices and enhanced employee welfare.
Glencar’s Managing Director for the Midlands and North, Pete Goodman, expressed enthusiasm at being appointed by Trebor Developments, a key player in the industrial and logistics marketspace. Goodman highlighted the synergy between Glencar’s philosophy of pursuing excellence and sustainable building practices and Trebor’s strategic vision. He emphasised that the high specification and strategic location make this development an attractive option for potential occupiers.
Mark Wright, a partner at Trebor Developments, conveyed excitement about advancing to the next construction phase, having completed preliminary works on the site. He acknowledged the ‘first class reputation’ of Glencar and noted the significant potential and early interest the project has garnered, paving the way for a timely completion by spring next year.
