- UK leisure travel sales soared to £60 million, marking a 20% increase year-on-year.
- The surge was partly driven by cruise bookings, which saw a 40% year-on-year rise.
- A month-long ‘Fab Feb’ incentive spurred agent performance, leading to excellent results.
- Jim Eastwood highlighted a bright future ahead as Travel Counsellors approach their 30th anniversary.
In an impressive display of growth, Travel Counsellors recorded its best-ever February, with UK leisure travel sales rising to £60 million—a staggering 20% increase compared to the previous year. This remarkable achievement highlights the resilience and strong performance within the agency’s operations.
One of the main contributors to this surge was the dramatic increase in cruise bookings, which rose by 40% compared to February of the previous year. Cruise bookings now make up nearly 15% of Travel Counsellors’ leisure sales, reflecting a significant trend among travellers opting for holidays at sea and river sailings.
The ‘Fab Feb’ incentive played a pivotal role in this success, encouraging agents to surpass their previous February’s performance. The incentive offered more entries for a chance to win luxury trips to destinations such as Antigua or a Bali-Singapore twin-centre trip. This motivational strategy paid off, with more than 150 Travel Counsellor business owners celebrating their best month yet.
Jim Eastwood, the global sales director, expressed optimism about the future, noting the record-breaking month as a historical achievement for the company. Eastwood remarked on the wave of cruise bookings and indicated that this trend points toward a promising future as the company sails into its 30th anniversary year.
The top five leisure bookings by individual travel counsellors each exceeded six figures, demonstrating the capacity and dedication within the agency. As the company moves forward, expectations are set high with more milestones anticipated on the horizon.
Travel Counsellors’ strong February sales indicate a robust and promising future for the agency.
