The annual ‘Thames Moonlight 10’ event, which takes participants on a scenic 10-mile walk through central London as the city transitions from day to night, was the perfect backdrop for this fundraising effort. Teams from Hays Travel branches in Bexleyheath, Harrow, Eltham, Romford, Southend, and South Woodham Ferrers took up the challenge, embracing the opportunity to support their chosen cause.
Katrina Pike, the branch manager in Bexleyheath, reflected on the event, stating, “It was an exceptional evening filled with heartfelt strides and unified spirits as we embarked on the Thames Moonlight 10-mile walk for YoungMinds.” She highlighted the pride and accomplishment felt by the participants, underscoring their dedication to making a tangible difference.
Rachael Dawney, a regional sales manager at Hays Travel, expressed her pride, articulating that many team members had to push themselves beyond their comfort zones to complete the walk. This charitable initiative is part of a broader company policy, with each of Hays Travel’s 490 branches receiving a £500 budget annually to engage in community fundraising and charity work. Camille Meehan from YoungMinds praised the initiative, acknowledging the vital impact such support has on the charity’s mission to ensure no young person feels isolated due to mental health issues.
